Intl. WeLoveU Foundation held large scale Blood Drive, ‘Save the World’


The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation (Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah), as a part of the "Saving Lives", is holding a simultaneous Blood Drive all parts of the world. The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation is a global welfare organization that carries out volunteer activities aiming at the harmony and friendship of a cosmopolitan beyond the country, ethnicity and language.


About 1,000 members of the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation conducted the One-Two Blood
Drive at Daejeon Sejong Chungnam Blood Center on July 1. Launched in 2004, the "One-Two Blood Drive" is mainly carried out during summer and winter when blood supply is low. And this year, too, the Blood Drive is going to be held on a national scale including in Ulsan, Seoul, Daegu and Busan.

The Blood Drive by Daejeon branch of the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation started at 10 am with opening ceremony. Kim Tae-kwang, head of the blood center, Kim Chan-sul, vice-chairman of the Daejeon Metropolitan Council, and other hospital and local government officials attended the ceremony to encourage the WeLoveU members.

 The Ulsan branch of Intl. WeLoveU Foundation held the 183rd Blood Drive with Lee Sang-cheon, director of Ulsan Blood Bank and Ko Ho-geun, vice chairman of the Ulsan City Council at Ulsan Blood Bank in Seongan-dong.
Kim Tae-gwang, director of the Daejeon Sejong and South Chungcheong Blood Bank said "There are many ways to love in this world, but the blood drive is the only way to love with my body and heart. I am grateful to the members of Intl. WeLoveU Foundation who participate in the blood drive to save lives every year."
Kim Jung-hyun (43), a member of the WeLoveU Foundation said, "I am very pleased to have contributed to saving lives of others by participating in this event with the intention of making a hopeful future of mankind with the heart of mother who regards the world people as the family of the global village" and " And I hope that more people participate in the Blood Drive of WeLoveU and it will finally be a catalyst for spreading the culture and community consciousness of respecting life.”


Daejeon-Sejong Chungnam blood center prepared 3 buses to make blood donation be done smoothly. It also considered members who took part in the Blood Drive by preparing refreshment and place for resting after donation filling out blood donation card and measuring blood pressure and pulse.

 "Steady blood donation is essential to meet the demand for blood  because blood can't be produced artificially ", said Lee Sangchen, director of the Korean Red Cross Society Ulsan Blood Institute,  "The donation from the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation will significantly contribute to improving supply of blood in Ulsan.
The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation, the cooperation organization of UN DGC(Department of Global Communications· Previous UN DPI) is carrying out various voluntary activities like Blood Drive as humanitarian activities toward the whole world.

    I've taken part in the Blood Drive run by the WeLoveU Foundation before.
    It was very nice and I was satisfied feeling I helped ppl to be healed.
    Blood donation is really meaningful and great!!

    I did not know that there were so many conditions for donating blood.
    In order to do good things, I had to make a healthy body from me.
    I plan to donate blood with my friends next year to join in this good work.
